In vitro effect of lemon essential oil and garlic extract on Monilinia fructicola growth

Brown rot produced by Monilinia fructicola (MON) is the main disease that causes postharvest losses in peaches of Argentina. There a public concern reducing use synthetic fungicides. The objective this work was to evaluate effect lemon essential oil (LO) and aqueous garlic extract (GE) on MON vitro mycelial growth inhibition (INH). In first trial colony disc placed middle Petri dish containing PDA 2%, or over plate lid 1 mL following treatments: Control, LO 0.5%, 1%, 3% Fludioxonil 0.02%. second trial, GE obtained processing fresh (cultivar Colorado) blender with tap water; cover each plate, treatments were: 2.27%, 5.68%, 11.35% 0.02%, extract. All concentrations assayed showed INH > 90%. Following these results could be evaluated future trials as peach fruits for control.
